What the Bosch dishwasher codes mean
Newer Bosch models can show a longer four-digit code for the same fault, for example E3100 instead of E15. Codes starting with H, such as H01, are not faults: they show the delay start timer. Check your manual if a code does not match.
E15, E3100: Water in the base
What it means: Water has collected in the base and the leak protection has switched on.
What you can check: Close the water tap and switch off the dishwasher. Do not use it until the leak has been found and fixed.
E24, E6103: Not draining
What it means: Water is not draining out, often because of a blocked filter or drain hose.
What you can check: Check the drain hose for kinks and check that the pump cover is fitted securely. Clean the filter.
E25, E6102: Drain pump blocked
What it means: The drain pump is blocked or its cover is loose or missing.
What you can check: Switch off. Remove the filter, scoop out standing water and clear any glass, bones or debris from the pump. Check that the pump cover is in place.
E22, E9240: Filter blocked
What it means: The filter is clogged.
What you can check: Remove the filter and wash it under running water with mild soap and a soft brush, then refit it.
E16, E17, E18: Water supply
What it means: Water may not be entering the dishwasher, or the level is too low.
What you can check: Check that the tap is fully open and the inlet hose is not kinked or damaged.
E09, E04: Heating
What it means: A fault in the heater or the heater electronics.
What you can check: Switch off at the breaker for 30 seconds and restart. If the code returns, the heater or circuit board needs a technician.
E12, E2060: Limescale
What it means: Limescale has built up in the heating system.
What you can check: Run a descaling cycle with dishwasher descaler, and use dishwasher salt if your model has a water softener.
E01, E02, E03: Circuit board
What it means: A fault on the main control board.
What you can check: Switch off at the breaker for 30 seconds and restart. If the code returns, the board needs testing.
E06, E8000: Door sensor
What it means: A fault in the door sensor circuit.
What you can check: Switch off at the breaker for 30 seconds and restart. If the code returns, the door sensor needs testing.
E27, E9001: Low power supply
What it means: The power supply to the dishwasher is too low.
What you can check: Switch off for 30 seconds and restart. If it happens again, have an electrician check the supply.
H01, H02: Delay start (not a fault)
What it means: The delay start timer is set, for example H01 is one hour.
What you can check: Press the plus or minus button until h:00 shows to clear the timer.
When to stop and call a technician
The dishwasher shows E15, the same code comes back after these checks, water is on the floor, it trips the power or you smell burning. Close the tap and switch off before you remove the filter.
