Microwave repair guides
Guides for a microwave that is not heating or is sparking inside.
Why Is My Microwave Not Heating?
A microwave that runs but does not heat almost always has a fault in the high-voltage circuit: the diode, the magnetron, the high-voltage capacitor or the transformer. A worn door switch or a wrong power setting can also stop it heating.
Why Is My Microwave Sparking Inside?
Most sparking comes from metal in the cavity (foil, metal trim on plates, a twist tie), a dirty or burnt waveguide cover, food and grease build-up, or chipped paint on the inside walls. Stop the microwave straight away.
