Oven repair guides
Guides for an oven that is not heating up, heating unevenly, tripping the power, has a fan that is not working or a door that will not close.
Why Is My Oven Not Heating Up?
An electric oven that does not heat up usually has its clock left in automatic mode after load shedding, a tripped isolator or breaker, or a failed element. You can check the clock, isolator and breaker.
Why Is My Oven Fan Not Working?
An oven fan most often stops because the fan motor has failed or seized. It can also stop if the setting you chose does not use the fan, the fan blade is loose or blocked, or the selector switch or control board is not sending it power.
Why Is My Oven Heating Unevenly?
Uneven heating usually means the oven is running on part of its heat. On a fan oven the most common cause is a fan motor that is slow or has stopped.
Why Is My Oven Tripping the Power?
An oven or stove that trips the power usually has an element with failed insulation that leaks current to earth. Moisture after cleaning is next.
Why Is My Oven Door Not Closing Properly?
Most oven doors that will not close have a broken or bent hinge or a worn hinge spring. A seal that has come out of its clips, a dislodged rack or food stuck in the opening can also stop the door closing.
